New Swami's and Swamini's
Amma conducted the ceremony of Sannyasa / Brahmacharya Deeksha to initiate over 260 of her disciples this last Friday, March 13th at her Amritapuri ashram in India. As part of the ceremony, Amma bestowed the newly minted monastics with their new robes and new names. Among others, this includes our beloved North American disciples:

Swami Dayamritananda Puri
formerly Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya

Swamini Ambikamrita Prana
formerly Bri. Remadevi

Swami Shantamritananda Puri
formerly Br. Shantamrita Chaitanya

Br. Ramanandamrita Chaitanya
formerly Ramanand

Br. Sattvamrita Chaitanya
formerly Sreejit Poole (Karuna’s son)

We joyfully congratulate all of Amma’s disciples who participated in this wonderful ceremony and take this opportunity to acknowledge their dedication and hard work done in her name. Thank you!

Amma said, "Sannyas is a state of total renunciation where one overcomes even the mind and its thoughts. One doesn't reach this state just by wearing robes. Each moment should become filled with alertness, love and faith as we strive to reach that goal. We need to develop awareness in each and every word, look, thought and action."

Let us all pray and send our blessings to them as they enter in to this new chapter of their monastic life.
