| Birthday Celebrations Report |
To commemorate our beloved Amma's 66th birthday we were blessed with a visit from Br. Dayamrita Chaitanya on Sunday the 22nd. The celebrations were again held at the Hilton Bellevue hotel. Volunteers arrived early in the morning to transform the ballroom into a temple. A large and diverse crowd from British Columbia, Oregon, Whidbey Island, the Olympic Peninsula, Tacoma, Shelton, Seattle and other areas gathered to join the bliss-filled celebration. Those who could not come in person, were surely felt in spirit.
The special celebration started with a slide show highlighting Amma's humanitarian activities in the Pacific Northwest, followed by a distribution of saplings to representatives from the regional satsangs to commemorate our connection to Mother Nature. Our special guest and generous supporter Mr. Mon Wig, owner of the Hilton Bellevue hotel, addressed the audience with kind words about Amma and her worldwide humanitarian activities.
Swamiji started his satsang by performing the customary pada puja to Amma's holy feet and led us in a short meditation and chanting. Swamiji's talk that was filled with touching, albeit humorous, stories that help us all feel more connected to our spiritual journeys and to Amma herself. Bhajans (devotional singing) followed and by the final song, Amrita Vahini (Ti Ti Tara), the room was so spiritually charged that many devotees broke into a spontaneous dance.

Over the years our winter retreats have offered a time for community celebration, sacred prayers, chant and meditation, beach and nature walks, healing workshops, art circles, community service projects and spiritual replenishment!

| Pujas and Homas in PNW - Summer 2019 |
August and September were festive months as we celebrated special holidays of Ganesh Chaturthi, Krishna Jayanthi, Onam and Amma's birthday in its jubilant glory. We were supremely blessed to have Pujarini Meera perform many pujas and homas during these auspicious occasions! The pujas performed were Bhagavati Seva Puja and Mahalaskmi Puja, whereas the homas performed were Ganapti Homa and Sudarshana Homa.
The divinity and splendor of these pujas and homas help to surround us with positive energy which can bring us peace of mind, material prosperity and enable us to more clearly touch the Divine, our true nature. While the benefits of these ceremonies are enormous, they also provided a great opportunity for us to come together and enhance our spiritual practices. We look forward to many more!
