Amma USA Tour Seva Opportunities Call To Action
Maltby Seva Food Worker Card Whidbey Satsang Posters
The results are in. The most effective marketing for Amma's PNW Program is YOU! Exit polls were taken last year and 76% of all newcomers heard of the program by word of mouth. That is more than all other forms of advertising combined. Based on those results, we are scaling back on some traditional forms of advertising and counting on YOU to do what you do best.
If everyone receiving this email would do three things, we could completely eliminate paid advertising and let all of that saved money go towards Amma's Humanitarian Projects.
1) Invite five friends. "Hi, Jane. You've heard me talk about Amma. She will be in Bellevue, May 27th - 29th. I hope to see you there. Call me and I can tell you the quietest times or when to come to hear great music."
2) Facebook & Twitter. Post or tweet the attached flyer and web link now. Keep posting about matters related to Amma's upcoming visit - mention your seva assignments (e.g., "So excited to be a Greeter at Amma's programs"), send countdown messages (e.g., "Amma will be here in 6 days, 3 days,") etc. or tweet how to get to Bellevue from wherever you live!
3) Print 5 of the attached poster and place in businesses you frequent. You know best where to find more people just like you. And for extra credit, you could join the neighborhood website and post the event to your local and adjoining neighborhoods.
Working together we will fill the hall with thousands of new smiling faces to greet Amma.
Amma's 2017 Program Volunteering Opportunities
As you probably know, Amma’s 2017 Pacific Northwest program is entirely run by volunteers and it is fast approaching! In the effort to ensure the program runs smoothly, we are looking for volunteers who can make a commitment in advance of the program. There are a wide variety of selfless service (seva) positions available in which you, your friends and family can lend a hand.
Please visit now for more details, or visit the Seva Desk (Volunteering Help Desk) during the program to assist. For additional information, please contact Cindy at
Maltby residents call for help
The residents are busy cleaning, preparing and repairing the house for the tour visit. However, help is needed to get it all ready for the Amma's arrival to the Pacific NW. In particular, from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm, the weekends of May 13-14 and May 20-21 are being set aside for deep cleaning, getting the grounds safe and clear and other maintenance work. If you have an hour or the entire day please feel free to drop by and help. No particular experience is needed for the work remaining.

Food Worker Card
To all who are graciously volunteering for food-handling sevas during Amma's 2017 programs at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue, please note:
  • Those supervising a food-handling seva MUST have a valid Washington State Food Worker Card (FWC).
  • Those that are being immediately supervised (e.g. volunteer sevites who are reporting to our leads and coordinators) are not required to have a FWC, but it is still recommended.

If you are a coordinator/lead/supervisor who will be overseeing food-handling, preparation, service, cleanup or in any other way intersecting food in your seva leadership responsibilities, you MUST get your FWC before the program starts. If you are a volunteer who knows you will be working in a food-handling seva, even though you are not in a supervisory position, please still get your FWC.

Tour Poster Seva
With only a few short weeks until Amma's visit, we need your help posting flyers for Amma's Pacific Northwest program!
If you could set aside a little time this week to hang Amma's posters in yoga studios, book stores, restaurants, health food stores, healing arts' studios and anywhere else you can think of... we can make a big impact in getting the word out.
Posters are available by contacting Anavadya at 206-229-7228, or you can print the posters by downloading it here. Also the Maltby residents have a supply of printed posters, 5X7 cards and business cards. Over the next two weekends you are welcome to stop by and grab a few.
