Maltby Property (the future MA Center PNW) Update
August is coming to a close and the new permaculture-based kitchen garden here in Maltby, the future home of the MA Center in the Northwest, is bursting with life and blessing us with beauty and abundance.
In a recent interview, Mechas, an Amma devotee and one of the primary permaculture gardeners at Maltby, described how the garden came about.
Permaculture is a holistic system of design, and one first observes the land for a year to learn about the natural rhythms of the place before beginning to plant and grow things.
But even as this observation period was just getting started, Brahmachari Dayamrita Chaitanya enthusiastically encouraged everyone involved to "just plant something!". And so the kitchen garden began.

Amma has been encouraging us to plant trees for many years. Iím planning to have a section about tree planting in the next PNW GreenFriends newsletter.
Have you planted trees? Has your satsang planted trees? How many trees did you plant? What kind of trees have you planted?
Would you send me any and all information about your tree planting activities- past, present and those planned for the future. Send photos and stories as well. It would also be fun to have photos of the trees you planted over time, showing how much they have grown.
Send tree planting info to: email@example.com.
Wah! Benefit Concert Report
On Friday August 12, 2016, Wah! offered her Healing concert as a benefit for Amma's charities. This fundraising-event was well received by the Seattle community, with a diverse and beautiful audience. Hopefully people will talk and spread the word - Wah! has expressed interest in doing it again next year. Thank you to Wah! for her time, talents and generosity.
Thank you to all who came out that evening as audience members and those that did seva.
