Amma's 20th Anniversary MAC PNW Auction

Auction

Thanks to everyone throughout the PNW Region who participated in this year's 20th Annual PNW Amma Auction. It is so amazing to be part of this super loving community.

At the auction, we had a delicious Indian dinner, featuring Pakodas, Bhel Puri, Ragada Patties and Dosas. The dinner was lovingly cooked and served to each person one at a time. The menu was delicious including Mango Lassi! I have never before tasted such excellent food! We had a fabulous raffle that featured, Jagati winning a Huggable Amma Prasad Pillow, Beverly winning a Breathtaking Brass Ganesh Statue, and Neha Raichur won the Super Tablas! Thanks Donna for selling all those tickets!

One different feature this year was that the online auction switched to a silent auction on the day of the event. This allowed for more fun, by bidding in person rather than on the computer. The tables were color coded, Green, Blue, White, Pink, and they closed at different times. This added to the excitement. This year for the first time we had a "Live auctioneers" the team of three were spectacular! They moved forward as professionals and were highly entertaining and engaging. THANK YOU!

Excellent musical entertainment, was provided by Satyasilian and Rachel. Their voices blended together perfectly and sounded like angels. Many devotees baked mouthwatering cakes and desserts for this year's first ever "Great Dessert Race." Through this fun game, we were able to raise over $700. from these desserts alone! BIG THANKS also goes to the photographers, ticket maker, flyer creator, description writers, item donators, service donators, the online techy experts, bidders, diners, and especially those that handled registration and checkout/cashiering, set-up, and clean-up... I am sure I have forgotten to mention someone, sorry.

It seems every single devotee took a part in making this auction the GREAT and amazing success that it was. It reminds me of the times 16 years ago when Bipin used to say, "Auction, no problem, the auction is a community effort. We will all create it together." This prophetic statement of his has really come to pass. All of you worked together seamlessly to make this happen. But of course... it was all only through Amma's Grace!

PNW Winter Retreat 2017 in OREGON!

Retreat

Mark your calendar to spend President's Day weekend in Oregon.

That's right! The Oregon Satsang is hosting the PNW Winter Retreat for the first time, next year. Camp Fire's Camp Namanu is just 40 minutes from downtown Portland on 550 secluded, wooded acres beside the Sandy River, just south of the Columbia River Gorge. It's a real camp, like you might remember from your childhood. The buildings are classic 1930s, built to last, with beautiful stone fireplaces! Hiking trails abound and the Sandy River is just footsteps from your heated cabin. It will be economically priced so you can bring your family and friends.

So, mark your calendar for February 17 to 20, 2017. Registration will begin at 5 pm on Friday, dinner to follow around 6. We'll have two full days to worship, work and play together before we break camp at Noon on Monday.
